BCOL Program

Buckingham Charter Online Learners (BCOL)

The BCOL program offers a limited number of students an option to complete work independently off-site, on-site, or a combination of both.  Students must be enrolled in a minimum of four classes off-site. All core classes will be at the college prep level and upper level classes may be required to be taken on-site at BCMHS if available, or at local colleges and/or other BCMHS administrative approved programs that meet the rigor and college level expectations of the course and curriculum. BCOL features a variety of engaging on-line courses, through Edgenuity, core classes meet the requirements of the University of California. Applications are available in the counseling office, and limited according to the enrollment capacity. If enrollment is at capacity, a waiting list and lottery process will be used to select students, with priority given to seniors and currently enrolled BCMHS students.

BCOL Program Overview

2016-2017 Parent Letter

Dear Parents,

This is an exciting journey for your students as they begin the 2016-2017 school year as BCOL students at Buckingham. The curriculum we have selected allows students to work at a pace right for them but also reap the benefits of a rigorous, in-depth education. Since your student will need to work hard, we are enlisting your help in keeping track of your student’s progress and offer any necessary assistance along the way. Your student’s instructional manager will always be a great resource and support for both you and your student. Please maintain consistent communication with them as they will be part of your educational team this year.

To make things easy for you to track your student’s progress, you will be sent an email from your student’s instructional manager with an activation code to get you started. Once you have received this code please visit learn.edgenuity.com/family. Here you will see a login screen. Locate the blue hyperlink “activate student.” You will be prompted to enter your email and activation code (given to you by your teacher). From here follow the directions to set yourself up to receive daily progress reports from your students Edgenuity account. As always, see instructional manager with further questions.

The BCOL team thanks you for being a part of your student’s education and we all look forward to a great school year!
